Rest Accountable Consistent Efficiency (RACE)

I have taken up a goal to build up my endurance by biking. My goal is to develop this endurance over time by training consistently and by being accountable to amount of effort I put in during my workouts. This is where Rest, Accountable, Consistent and Efficiency, in short, RACE philosophy comes into picture. With RACE, a workout is designed to accomodate periods of rests and effort at different endurance levels. This results in building and growing of endurance gradually.

How RACE fits in Life?

As much as this philosophy can be used in sports same can be observed in life too. We live our life by working hard at times, mixed with period of enjoyment, the other times. But during our time of relaxation, we forget to be in control. The lack of discipline eventually disturbs our balance of life. To get the back this balance in life RACE philosophy, can be helpful too. Rather than wasting “Rest” periods on wasteful activities, try to focus on activities which will not only re-energise but also makes one better as human being.
